Our staff

Pastor

David Wisener is our founding pastor. He is bi-vocational and works for the church as a volunteer, though he still feels like he’s overpaid. His other job is as the Economic Development Manager for the City of Alachua, where he enjoys being able to help support the community as a part of the City’s Executive Department.

David is very aware of the mistakes he’s made in life and his shortcomings, so he’s extra thankful for and dependent on grace and forgiveness. He comes from a multi-generational line of Methodists through his mother’s family and spent the vast majority of his life within the United Methodist Church. In his opinion, similar to the experience of necessity mandating decisions in the lives of both John Wesley and B.T. Roberts, he feels like he was drawn to the Free Methodist Church and appreciates the spirit in which it was born and its uneven life since (much like his own).

David was born and raised in High Springs and is a lifelong resident of Alachua County. He is a graduate of the University of Florida with a B.A. in Political Science and is currently pursuing (part-time) a M.A. in Ministry from Asbury Theological Seminary.

David lives in Alachua with his teenage daughter, Naomi.
